Since the wedding re-caps are coming to an end...yes, I will finish them, I figured I'd start the slow transition into life after the wedding! Which, in short, has been amazing! I can't wait to share with you all what we've been up to the last 4 months...crazy that we've been married that long (tomorrow).
I didn't talk about it much before the wedding (only here and here), but I was doing really well with my workouts. I didn't ever finish the push-up challenge, but started lifting weights instead. I felt really good about how I looked at my wedding, but then it happened...my motivation to be fit was gone! I had already had my wedding and I'm embarrassed to say...didn't work out once after the wedding. I no longer feel good about the way my body looks. All the hard work I put into it before the wedding is now unnoticed. I know I am my worst critic, but my clothes used to look better on me...I swear!
Finally, yesterday, I had had enough! I can no longer feel sorry for myself because I wasn't doing anything to change it. I was in track in high school and don't mind running, so I thought I should start there. I found a program online called Couch to 5K (aka C25K) and started Week 1 Day 1 (W1D1) yesterday. You can read more about the program on the website, but in short, it gets you running 3 miles in 2 months. I also found a podcast with music that also tells you when to walk and when to run at the right times which totally helps, so I can just focus on what I should be doing and not how long I've been doing it. There are lots to choose from...I used this one yesterday and am going to try this one tomorrow.
Running is a great workout, but I also re-started the 100 Push-up Challenge this morning. So, I think I have my bases covered, but may also need to throw in some sit-ups at some point too. When I was doing the push-up challenge last time I was also doing sit-ups and ended up pulling something in one of my stomach muscles, so we'll start off slow and see what kind of results I'm getting and go from there!
So why am I telling you all of this? I need to hold myself accountable. My plan is to do a weekly post with a summary of what my work-outs consisted of. I'm still working out what my schedule will be, but this week my run days are Sunday (yesterday), Tuesday and Thursday. Push-up days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Next week might be a challenge since Mr. 2SB's parents are coming to visit on Sunday, so I'm gonna do what I can next week, but get right back on it as soon as they leave! (They've never visited us before, since we weren't married. Not sure what they plan is while they are here, but I'm hoping it goes well!)
If any of you decide to do any of this, let me know! It would be great to have some buddies to lean on but to also keep each other focused! So that's where I'm at and I apologize if that was boring, but I need to find something (or a combination of things) that will keep me accountable and I feel like putting this all out there was a step in the right direction!
Anyone else feel the same way I did after their wedding? What got you motivated again?
Re-caps will be back tomorrow!!!
