Wedding...MN Style: The Girls Beautify

While the guys were getting ready at the hotel, the girls and I were hanging out in the church basement. There was a new addition put on our church a few years ago and with that came a wonderful room for us to get ready in! It was really just four walls and a table and some play toys, but with a door we could lock (if necessary) it worked out great!

While we were finishing up at the salon, FSIL/Personal Attendant B was hard at work! After she got her hair done, she picked up my dress from the cleaners and then took all of the dresses (mine and all the BMs) and all of our bags to the church. So, when we got to the church, all we had to do was get ready! It was great!

My sister/MOH had done her make-up at the salon because we knew that as soon as we got to the church, she needed to get to work re-creating the look from my makeover in Chicago (see picture here). We got some music going and my sister got down to work.

I was never the least bit worried about having my sister do my make-up! She's the one that turned me on to MAC and has a very large collection of their products. Her make-up always looks great and I knew she wouldn't make me look bad! She also stood right by the make-up artist when were in Chicago, asked lots of questions and took lots of pictures. We even had the artists phone number in case we ran into any problems!

I'll let the pictures tell the rest of our getting ready story!

All pictures from our photographers.

We started with the eyes...

My sister/MOH blowing on the fake lash glue to make sure it was dry

BM C, BM L & BM B look on (some of them had on teeth whitening strips...they were hard core!)

Disco fever anyone?

FSIL/PA B helping BM L with her necklace

Giving the photog some sass before we kicked him out so we could get dressed

BM C getting zipped into her dress
(I hadn't seen the actual dresses until 2 days before the wedding...I loved them however!)

Loading on the deodorant

Bracing myself to get tied into my dress

almost done

doing a little shimmy to make sure my dress could withstand some dancing

One bow...

And I was dressed!

Some finishing make-up touches

a little more help with the lips

and I was ready to see my groom!

While we were getting ready the flowers came and looked amazing! I got wind of the tie fiasco but with little cell coverage in the church basement FSIL/PA B took the call and I brushed it off. The guys showed up and everyone left me in the room alone while they went to pin on the bouts for the guys. My mom finally realized I was alone after a few minutes and came back in with me! I have to say though, it was nice to have those few minutes alone that day! I gathered my composure (even though I was pretty calm all day) and just gathered my thoughts!

When I walked out of the room, I saw the groomsmen, who all looked great and was ready to see Mr. 2SB!

Did you get left alone at all on your wedding day? How did you take it?

Next up...the flowers...then our first look!

How about that for suspense!

Oh goodness..... I can't imagine being left by myself on my wedding day! Especially if I was in my wedding dress, I would fear for a breakdown.

Ahh your getting ready pictures look so fun!

I was left alone for about 30 seconds when the bridesmaids left the room and right before my Dad came in. That 30 seconds was just enough time for me to get nervous although I had been calm all day --that's when I lost it!! Good thing my Dad and I collected ourselves before walking down the aisle.
